Day In The Life:

Reporting directly to the VP of Digital Experience The DVP of Product Management, is responsible for leading the team accountable for creating the product(s) vision, strategy, roadmap and execution. This role will drive a clear understanding of customer needs and advocate for the right balance between supporting the existing business and innovating for the future.

 

This role will actively support our DE&I framework by identifying opportunities to increase the diversity of our products and brands.  They will lead with inclusion to nurture our OneTeam culture by removing barriers for our Associates and communities. 

 

What You Will Do:

  • Lead, coach and inspire a team of Group Product Managers & Sr Product Managers 
  • Set the vision, mission and objectives of the Product Management team 
  • Solve customer needs by using research, insights and data to obtain a deep understanding of our customers’ problems and to define prioritization
  • Use of both qualitative and quantitative research to make informed decisions 
  • Be proactive on understanding the competitive landscape & industry trends and use this information to identify sustainable competitive advantages for The Bay as well as to inform the product strategy.
  • Build on the product strategy framework & influence PMs to set strategy, roadmap & rationale 
  • Have a strong focus on understanding, refining and articulating the problem(s) or opportunity that the team is solving for
  • Shape go-to-market (GTM) approach on how we ship the whole customer experience and how each individual feature ladders up into this holistic view
  • Motivates and encourages triefca pods (Product | UX | Engineering) to find creative ways to ship; frequently delivering value with quality using a Agile Scrum methodology 
  • Strong understanding and accountability of Objectives & Key Results (OKRs)
  • Creates relationships, builds trust and drives alignment with a broad range of senior stakeholders across the business especially with UX & Engineering.
  • Leads and provides guidance to GPMs & Product Managers in defining the functional scope of initiatives that introduce new features and functionalities and/or improving upon existing ecommerce features and functionalities
  • Partner with business owners to assemble and prioritize strategic roadmap initiatives specific to the banner of business, as well as incorporating companywide objectives into the plan.
  • Develop and empower GPM’s and PMs to upskill on the craft and development goals through both people leadership or Individual Contributor tracks

What You Will Need:

  • 7+  years of experience in Product Management including leading a team of Product Managers
  • Experience in creating scope documents, functional business requirement specifications and use cases.
  • Experience leading an Agile Scrum team
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Extensive understanding of the retail ecommerce landscape
  • Proficient with Optimizely, Jira/Confluence & G Suite .
  • Knowledge of site analytics tools such as Adobe or Google Analytics
  • Experience in working with native apps
  • Understanding of A/B testing design and execution.
  • A leader who can drive strategy & execution while empowering the team 
  • You enjoy problem framing or identifying opportunities that have meaningful impact
  • You have previous experience working in an Tech / IT organization, retail organization or at a digital native company leading a product team including Group Product Managers
  • You are an expert communicator, with the ability to build strong relationships beyond your immediate team.
  • Your oral and written communication skills are effective and clear 
  • You have strong financial acumen and can clearly articulate how epics/initiatives connect back to the company's financial goals and the ROI they deliver
  • You have a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment.
  • You are self-motivated and can independently maintain your own workflow to meet timeline expectations
