Day In The Life:

Reporting to the Manager, Site Merchandising the Specialist, Site Merchandising is responsible for coordinating and supporting the day to day performance and merchandising of the total category to deliver on the site experience objectives on thebay.com. This position is passionate about site experience and analyzing data to implement the online linking and navigation strategies. The specialist will work closely with internal cross-functional partners to ensure all site merchandising strategies are executed against marketing campaigns/editorials in a timely manner, and the site standards are achieved and cohesive across the category and site.

This role will actively support our DE&I framework by identifying opportunities to increase and promote diversity in our teams, products and brands. They will lead with inclusion to nurture our OneTeam culture by removing barriers for our Associates and communities.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Support the Manager, Site Merchandising in achieving key metrics such as: add-to-cart rate, conversion rate, units per transaction (UPT), average order value (AOV) and for lowering the bounce and exit rate across all pages
  • Execute data-driven, customer-centric site merchandising strategies specific to business unit to increase overall product discovery
  • Execute the Site Navigation (top, left, and editorial), search and refinement strategy as defined by the Manager, Site Merchandising to ensure product findability is customer-centric and supports the growth of marketplace and overall objective of the Site Merchandising team
  • Passionate about creating a best in class shopping experience, utilizing web analytics, AB testing tools and leveraging customer data to optimize product findability and UX
  • Provide category expertise on linking and boosting strategies that tie into the overall objective of site merchandising and marketing campaigns
  • Populating curated products for custom arrays and providing analysis on during and post page performance
  • Leverage site analytics to monitor performance and continuously optimize product placement and discoverability (navigation, refinements, promotions, product pages) to improve customer experience
  • Under direction of the Manager, Site Merchandising help support the conceptualization, prioritization and calendarization of digital editorial for an assigned area of business
  • Populate creative briefs and turn-in activities for editorial content and conduct performance analysis and reporting on insights and next steps
  • Consistent auditing of changes and updates to areas of responsibility
  • Quality check of changes/updates of categories and refinements to ensure new standards are delivering expected results
  • Prepare materials for regular update meetings, including web analytics, competitive analysis, updates on sale information, upcoming launches and promotions, corrective actions, etc.
  • Other duties as required in support of the Site Merchandising team

 

What You Will Need:

  • Post-secondary degree in Business or related field
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce Business Manager and Algolia would be an asset
  • Working knowledge of platform systems and site analytics tools (ex: Adobe Omniture, FullStory and Google Analytics) 
  • Have an understanding of and passion for digital retail landscape
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and the ability to quickly learn internal systems, processes and additional software/web-based applications
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
