Day in the Life:
As a Senior Product Designer at The Bay, you will think about the entire system, providing solutions that better the entire customer experience, not only the feature while working collaboratively with your cross-functional team.

This role will actively support our DE&I framework by identifying opportunities to increase and promote diversity in our teams, products and brands. They will lead with inclusion to nurture our OneTeam culture by removing barriers for our Associates and communities.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the design of new initiatives and improvements to existing experiences related to Marketing Technology, shaping how we engage with our customers through thoughtful experiences
  • Collaborate with different disciplines. You will work closely with engineers, product managers, UX manager, researchers, and front-end developers & stakeholders to explore, build and ship your designs. You will help other disciplines understand the value design can bring to a project and ultimately build and ship the best products.
  • Applying strategic thinking to visualize ideas and concepts and communicate them effectively and compellingly for internal stakeholders, partners and customers
  • Sharing knowledge with, coaching, and mentoring fellow design team member(s)
  • Pair and collaborate with other Designers by sharing best practices, ideation techniques, and usability principles
  • Strive for clarity, working to influence others and build consensus, when dealing with ambiguity
  • Work iteratively and learning fast, taking action, reacting quickly to new information, and focusing on outcomes rather than output
  • Facilitate or participate in ideation and other co-design sessions, motivating team members to take part in not only creating design solutions, but understanding requirements and supporting delivery
  • Effectively communicate and demonstrate design concepts, based on qualitative or quantitative data, to internal stakeholders using interactive prototypes

What You Will Need:

  • 5-8 years design experience creating simple solutions for complex challenges
  • Passion for solving product problems while balancing all facets of a user experience (strategy and research, information architecture, interaction design) and collaborating closely with multiple disciplines including product, engineering, content, research & stakeholders
  • Expert knowledge of the end to end iterative product design process including how to develop and use design research, job stories, journey mapping, content modelling, wire-framing, prototyping, user testing, and high-fidelity visuals to achieve human-centered design solutions
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; you have the ability to help your team and stakeholders understand the “why” behind your design rationale
