Day In The Life:
The Senior Manager of Engagement Marketing reports to the Vice President of Growth and will be a key contributor to building a digital-first and purpose-driven brand. This individual is a highly analytical thinker who will partner with internal teams and external vendors to ensure the development and accurate execution of targeted channel content from end-to-end. They will lead the strategy to ensure email, SMS, push and Direct Mail programs have strong strategies, customer journeys and are continually optimized through analytics. They will strive to increase profitability through collaborative and measured use of integrated, multi-channel digital marketing practices and tools. They will derive insights from results and share recommendations with the broader digital and marketing teams. They will serve as an advocate for channel best practices for The Bay internally. This individual will own and accelerate the personalization, automation and segmentation strategy.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Build customer journeys/flows and develop implementation plans for new program initiatives with a focus on automated campaigns and a personalized customer relationship
  • Support the Vice President of Growth in developing yearly, quarterly, and monthly email, SMS, push, and direct mail strategies to improve channel performance and optimize performance
  • Lead and coach direct reports, and the larger team, for campaign management across channels
  • Represent the personalization stream of the Engagement Marketing team among cross-functional partnerships, presenting recommendations for program enhancements and new initiatives in order to meet business goals
  • Develop customer segmentation strategies across marketing retention channels to determine the target audiences for each message 
  • Develop customer acquisition strategies across OMNI channels and build flows for newly acquired customers
  • Pitch new channels and tactics to elevate personalization and automation strategies
  • Derive insights from reports on performance metrics, analyze results and identify enhancement opportunities
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure technical aspects of emails are functioning, including link tracking, customer subscription inquiries and acquisition feed lists
  • Analyze data, present findings to upper management and make strategic recommendations for future marketing campaigns and initiatives to help optimize campaign performance and ROI
  • Identify ways to optimize and streamline current processes 
  • Develop a lead-gen acquisition strategy for our channels to grow its customer base and a content/cadence plan for this new audience
  • Be the ‘go-to’ Engagement Marketing channel expert for the Marketing team and recommend communication plan modifications for a best-in-class customer experience
  • Responsible for managing the annual and monthly budget forecast, as well as invoice submissions for all Engagement Marketing programs

 

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, including experience in email marketing and digital marketing at a retailer, tech company or agency
  • In-depth understanding of key performance metrics and the ability to recognize how they might impact the business
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Proficient in Excel (including creating pivot tables/advanced formulas), Word, PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal skills; ability to build cross-channel relationships and influence key business partners with a respectful, can-do attitude
  • Strong analytical and thought leadership skills 
  • Hyperaware of email marketing trends, best practices technologies
  • Hands-on experience working with ESP and analytical tools 
  • Strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and motivate the Engagement Marketing team to enhance their personal performance and grow their skill set
