Job Title: Director, Global Sourcing

NOC: 0113 – Purchasing Managers or 10012 – Purchasing Managers

 

Location: 401 Bay St., Toronto, Ontario M5H 2Y4

This is a hybrid role that allows the successfully selected incumbent to work twice a week at 401 Bay St., Toronto, Ontario M5H 2Y4, and three days remotely.

Salary Range: $120,000 to $145,000 per year, commensurate with experience (40 hours per week) - permanent/full-time

Number of Positions: One (1)

Required Language Skills: English (spoken and written)

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the sourcing strategy, vendor relationships, and production for the men’s, women’s and kids apparel and accessories brands.
  • Develop and lead a sourcing strategy to take advantage of trade agreements, vendor matrix and brand requirements.
  • Oversee and drive the seasonal production process, including management of production calendar, development of target costs, cost negotiations, capacity planning by vendor and production reservation.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for sourcing leverage across categories.
  • Collaborate with agents, vendors, and factories on daily tracking of production process, and work with internal teams (Tech/QA, Design, Merchandising, Operations) to resolve production issues in a timely manner.
  • Manage key communications with all internal (merchants / planners) and external stakeholders.
  • Provide summary recaps by business, category, and season for orders placed.
  • Track current sourcing landscape (% of business in countries of production).
  • Oversee and develop direct reports and team members.
  • Additional responsibilities as required.

 

Required Experience/Skills:

  • 10+ years of apparel production and sourcing experience; experience in men, women and children’s apparel
  • 5+ years’ senior management experience, overseeing and managing apparel/garment production and sourcing activities.
  • Experience producing sweaters, wovens, and cut & sew knits.
  • Strong vendor base management and fashion retail industry experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and employee development and engagement experience
  • Thorough knowledge of the production process and partnering with Sourcing Agents, Design Houses and Retailers.
  • Ability to influence assortment plan purchases to drive growth.
  • Knowledge of trade agreements for apparel and home goods production.
  • Experience with the technical design functions and managing a vendor matrix and in purchase order management and production management.
  • Proven ability to manage the sampling process and sample approvals.
