A Day in the Life:

As a Site Merchandising Manager for the Zellers business, you and your team will work in direct partnership with our Category Management team to build and execute an exceptional digital experience for Zellers.ca. We’re building a fun and engaging omnichannel experience and this role is critical to defining what the experience will look like.  Reporting to the Vice President, Buying & Planning, you will lead a team to build and execute the site navigation, create compelling product experiences across channels, and drive continuous improvement in the way that we ‘show up’ for our customers online.

What You Will Do:

• Build and execute the Site Navigation (top, left, and editorial), taxonomy, and refinement strategy to ensure product findability is customer-friendly and supports the growth of all merchandise channels (including marketplace)
• Partner with Category Managers to develop and execute merchandising strategies for products on landing / transactional pages and how customers interact with products across digital channels in alignment with financial goals for the season
• Create a compelling product experience to include inspirational merchandise presentation, simple and intuitive category navigation, and clear and accurate product details
• Build and present in-depth analyses of category performance on site using web analytics and work with Category Managers to design actionable plans for continuous improvement
• Identify areas of opportunity to make meaningful investment shifts supported by marketing and site execution
• Responsible for improving the add-to-cart rate, conversion rate, UPT’s, AOV and for lowering the bounce and exit rate across all pages
• Leverage site analytics and user sessions to measure and monitor content effectiveness performance and continuously optimize product placement and discoverability (navigation, refinements, promotions, product pages) to improve customer experience
• Track & review site quality metrics and define ways to improve; collaborate with our Site Operations team to identify and reduce process or system inefficiencies
• Participate in cross-banner product findability summits and apply learnings to future taxonomy standards
• Lead a team of specialists (hybrid and/or fully remote) responsible for executing strategies, analyses, site modifications, and supporting overall financial and operational objectives
• Lead with inclusion to nurture our OneTeam culture by removing barriers for our Associates and communities

What You Will Need:

• Energized to be a part of building something new
• Passionate about retail ecommerce and excited about digital best practices / emerging features and functionality
• Post-secondary degree / education in a related field
• 5+ years’ experience in eCommerce, majority of that time spent in retail site merchandising
• Demonstrated experience leading a team (on-site and remote) and support learning & development
• High degree of proficiency with site analytics tools (e.g., Omniture) and with content management tools
• Ability to work well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and to adapt quickly to evolving priorities
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working with large sums of data and drawing conclusions with imperfect information.
• Strong aptitude to work within deadlines, both independently and as part of a team
• Gets things done by engaging in high-level teamwork and flexing your interpersonal skills with coworkers, colleagues, and external partners
• A natural problem-solver, who is also intuitively analytical and creative
• Strong knowledge of G-Suite and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and the ability to  quickly learn internal systems, processes and additional software/web-based applications
